May not be a problem in the fact that the Serbs wanted to be independent from the Turks but because Croats are barbarized as was said Ksaver Sandor Gjalski. "We left Europeanness and Western culture which enriched parts of the country, we threw people in eastern claws, oldturkish barbarism and Byzantine corruption, in a word, oriental evil, terrible, terrible sin".
Certain nations east of Croatia have a obsession since early medieval ages to put = between everyone.
So they are not alone in their barbarism and everything else.
Croats,"Bosniaks" and Serbs were never same, gaps are too deep.
"For the holidays, they burst with pork and lamb roasts, stuffed cabbage, and boiled pig's feet. The television and radio programs for those days are like broadcasts from provincial taverns. Truck drivers' songs ring out, hiccuping and burping reverberate, and comedians offer advice for how to cure hangovers. Instead of antacids they recommend brine. Once they've had their fill of food and drink, they strike up a circle dance. The radio and television sets wobble, the kitchen credenza trembles with glasses that are never set out on the table! When Ćira married, he used up a whole tub of lard. For centuries they have been dreaming of a tub of lard, the lard drips down their whiskers, dribbles into their dream."
Illyrian
I'm not exactly sure where Blonde hair and blue eyes comes from, but I think I disagree with you. I will have to look this up, but I assumed that these features are of European origin. It is most common in Northern Europe, where the climate is colder on average, so I believe people evolved into those traits due to the environment. I believe blue eyes came into existence because in areas where there is a lot of snow, the Sun reflects off of the snow and burns the retina. The Blue color of the Iris helps to reflect that sunlight out of the eyes. Anyway I'm pretty sure that they are European Traits. I'm not sure where blonde hair came from or why but it is most prevalent in Northern Europe as well. But these traits can be found all over Europe because, the Nordic tribes expanded eastward all the way Russia. The term Rus comes from the viking race that settled in the area that is Russia now. I think this expansion also moved to Southern Europe. Maybe they are not Germanic features, per se, but they are definitely European in my opinion.
The Illyrian provinces of the Balkans were united by Napoleon during the early 19th century. I think Serbia and Croatia have some things in common but had a different history. The Croats were more influenced by the West, so that's why I think some Croats might be Germanic. The Serbs were influenced by the East, by Turkey and the Asian Hordes. Also Croats chose to follow the Pope, while Serbs stuck to paganism before turning to Greek Orthodox. I think Serbia played a vital role in defending the rest of Europe from the Turkic hordes. They paid the brunt of that price, along with Bulgaria. So we shouldn't fight so much we all have our strengths and weaknesses.
I think they are Balkan Natives with Slavic and some Germanic admixture:)
