Which neighbour do the Greeks resemble the most?

Cypriots are excluded, because the poll would be useless then. So is the Albanians, Bulgarians, Macedonians or Turks? I m talking about looks and mentality - the combination...

From my experience Macedonians, and right after Bulgarians.

Coastal Bulgarians are the closest to Greeks mentally/culturally and even racially, but overall Bulgarians aren't close to Greeks so that's why i voted Albanians. Tosks seem to share a lot with Ancient Greeks.

those arent included because they are NOT immediate neighbours. Cypriots are Greeks, so they cant be more unrelated to Greeks than the other neighbours in my oppinion.

Macedonians and Bulgarians are probably closer related to modern Greeks then what Cypriot Greeks are.

I understand, Turkey is third then.

None of them really. I could say Greeks resemble more Italians as we are a south-European/euro-Mediterranean nation...and less Caucaso-Slavo-Balkanic nation, not to mention the Middle Eastern and Asian mixture of the Turkish nation.

The study showed that, today, Greek DNA is most similar to: a) Italian DNA, b) French DNA, c) Spanish DNA, d) Turkish DNA.

The DNA of Italians in modern day southern Italy is the closest match to the DNA of their Greek neighbors.

Also involved other research institutes of 5 different countries (from Baghdad to Moscow). The research results were published in "The American journal of Human Genetics".
