I guess you forgot about numerous posts and thread about Albanians claiming to be Ancient Greeks.

That's to troll greeks, as if albanians care or identity with Greeks or their culture. that's more an orthodox christian phenomenon.
I have seen Serbs, Fyroms and Bulgarians wanting to be Greek or looking up to them.

Anyway, I don't care about illyrians etc and I have said before. that's not who I am today or wasn't in the past probably. But I don't like these anti-albanian arguments coming from casandrinos and the like. He had no problem with Croats claiming to be illyrian but aggressively jumped on my post and argued as if it's some kind of threat when it's well known that illyrians settled in northern Albania. It seems we can't claim any paleo-balkan identity when we are the most "balkan" genetically, and when we do, people jump in to say "why identify with dead people" "illyrians were useless anyway" in a really bitter way. (Trun, Casandrinos et al.)

Map of Illyrian tribes before Roman conquest. I have read that in territory of modern Croatia incoming Slavs killed most of Ilyrians, and assimilated some, but most were killed. Only those that found shelter in coastal Dalmatian cities remained in significant numbers. hm?
