Quite on the contrary.

I am aware of the fact that the Midsummer is celebrated on St. John's day in many countries. However, that most certainly does not mean that the actual Midsummer (the longest day/shortest night of the year) magically moves to that day too

People should head the Celts - they've already got rid of this Christian relict and celebrate the midsummer at Stonehenge on the day it's supposed to be celebrated. 18,000 gathered there this year:

No, it actually reached the middle on the 21st (Midsummer=middle of the summer).
