The most dense region in the Usa would the Northeast megalopolis.
The least dense would be these states (except for Minnesota) and I would also include Alaska for sure.

most dense - gangetic plain easily. UP, Bihar, Bengal. This area is loaded with humanity. UP - 230 million, Bihar - 120 mill, West Bengal - 100 mill. Thats 450 million people right there. If we add bangadesh -160 mill, thats about 610 million in total. Europe population overall is 750 million to give a perspective.
Least dense - definitely the mountain regions of himachal, ladakh, parts of northeast india outside of assam.
