It is? I thought it was Lithuanian related or something like that, My grandmother have "close" matches in Finland, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Slovakia etc... quite ambiguous.

I've never lived outside Mallorca but i visited many parts of Spain and in my opinion if you want to live in a rural and very relaxed area i reccomend Aragón(if you don't mind to see a lot of big toads in the streets) , Galicia and Castilla y Leon.

It peaks in Estonia and just a quick google search gave me Estonian people with such surname. You'd really need to explore that side of your family more
