Considering the geography, in particular the Germanic proportion of Kajkavian speakers is high. As it's essentially equally distributed, it suggests a not recent source.

There is no historiography explaining this. But it may be noted that the area belonged to the Ostrogothic kingdom in 476 AD before they invaded Italy in 488/493 AD.

An other relevant thing may be a somewhat later Longobard settlement exclave that is determined archaeologically.

Maybe you can identify whether this directly concerns his area.

Historiography will mostly notice people that move, provide battles and show up politically, not those who stay, assimilate and have no own political representation.

    Over 75% migration period.

16.4% Roman Illyria and 6.6% Roman Pannonia is pretty much all that he has left from the Iron Age.

The lack of Celtic (the 6.6% Roman Pannonia is not just Celtic but Illyro-Celtic) is noteworthy and its validity for your country's Northwest needs to be verified through f4-statistics.

Maybe even with the possibility to distinguish West Germanics (like Longobards) from East Germanics (like Ostrogoths).

Interesting, seems this small purple region in the bottom of the pic does cover his area. Also let's not forget lot of ancestors of NW Croats were Slavs from furthern north, Panonnia and great Moravia who fled south when Magyars conquered the area.

we don't have precise percentages and details unfortunately, but it seems in Y-DNA it is quite less notable than in autosomal.
Varaždin is in NW Croatia for example:
