Netizens were outraged to find "En İyi Kürt Ölü Kürt" -- the best Kurd is a dead Kurd -- trending on Twitter on August 9. Many said the phrase's online popularity reflected common sentiments in Turkey against Kurds. The Stream spoke to Kani Xulam of the American-Kurdish Information Network about why the phrase was trending

This tweet shows one user repeating the phrase over and over, a common tactic for increasing a topic's mentions to get it into the trends column shown above. The trend reportedly started after news broke of an ambush of a Turkish military bus by suspected Kurdish fighters. One soldier was reported to have died in the attack. Tensions among ethnic Kurds and the Turkish military have been running particularly high in recent months, but attacks in western Turkey are relatively rare.

Kurdish people are so much in Turkey/ex-Kurdistan territories, and it wont be easy to get rid of them. Ofc they could start a new genocide. Its so easy for them, they even got an Android/IPhone application for that matter, Genocide It! .

such reactions are quite normal if whole country are being terrorized by certain group of people for 30 years.

This is even a softer reaction than it used to be in other parts of the world. It would easily be a civil war in some other place but the most extreme reaction in Turkey are these internet tweets.
