Lu Scottis is a sardinian dance derived from the Scottish. This dance spread in Sardinia at the beginning of 19th century, at the times of the Napoleonic Wars, when the British Royal Navy stationed for some periods between 1803 and 1805 off the coasts of Gallura, the northern east region of Sardinia, close to Corsica. Today the Scottis is the traditional dance of Gallura.
