Russia and Byelorussia might cut a deal and unite, at some point in the future, but I don't see it happening. The Ukraine is shaken by civil strife, and we might see it ripped apart. If the Ukraine irreversibly fragments, then we might see the Crimea and Eastern Regions become permanently absorbed into Russia.

Belarusians are virtually identical to Russians and should unite. The more territory Russia can gain the better.

Troll thread because from 17 million km2 fertile land should be enough for 140 million people. And they are distant enough. By the same logic they should be united with Lithuania because of Grand Duchy.

Do what you should.

I could see Belarus joining for the sole fact that it's a much smaller population relative to Ukraine so no point really for them to stay separate if they could benefit by just joining Russia.
Ukrainians are much more numerous and have a hatred for Russians, so they're more likely to push genetic/ethno-cultural "divergence" from Russians.
