Well. They had been in their sleeping bags, and I suspect that some got so dazed that they tried to get away without even realising what's what. Human nature, nothing suspicious. It's called FEAR. Fuck Everything And Run. Needless to say: adrenaline runs out and they succumbed to the cold.

I remember watching poignant videos about that case on two different crime channels in England that I regularly listen to when I'm cooking and cleaning.
The two crime video channels that I regularly listen to sensitively talk about disturbing crimes from around the world and they never have any loud background music, unlike in so many US crime documentaries that often features loud and dramatic background music that drowns out the narration, along with sensationalist reporting and actors who are used for US entertainment purposes.
There's always a calm, considerate, poignant, and sensitive manner in the narrative and style of reporting, along with a sympathetic emphasis placed upon the victims in the two crime channels that I watch. Here are two short videos below from their separate crime channels (Truly Criminal and Coffeehouse Crime) about this case.
