In Austria until the year 1000 AD a Latin language was spoken.. The Germanic languages were very marginal..

So the germanic roots of Austria are not really old..

In Bavaria and Moselle latin languages were spoken till XIII century.

Also in south west england and Slovenia Croatia Serbia latin languages were spoken till 1000 A.D...
