It's an interesting thought experiment: what would have become of the U.S.A after they implemented Lincoln's plan. That means no Jim Crow, no positive discrimination today, no identity politics. That means a United States that resembles Europe much more closely.

They had to go back, so our land would be pure. But nope. Plantation owners wanted to exploit black labor and rape black women, so we couldn't have nice things. And the South was more "racist" by keeping the poor creatures in human bandage, which is a travesty just by itself.

We would be much more like the U.K, most definitely. And by the virtue of us not having identity politics, that cancer would not spread to Europe itself, and Europe would be more homogeneous and of a pure race.

Somewhat strangely, the Russians supported the North and Lincoln back during the Civil War years.
Probably related to the whole Great Game and Britain maybe partially supporting the South.
