You see our type of intelligence as the be-all and end-all in the living realm, but it's only an anthropocentric view we tend to have.

Chimps however have been going through the early stages of the stone age for thousands of years. If we were to disappear, a subset of them might take over eventually after millions of years, or something else entirely. Or nothing similar to us at all until the system we live in dies.

Some species have not evolved for 500 million years, they are fine as they are, like some jelly fish and crabs. Bacterias are here for billions of years. Humans are a blink of an eye in the history of our world.
Proto humans appeared on the scene at least 5million years ago.
It takes many generations for beneficial mutations to occur.

Mankind takes over 20 years per generation, no one will substantial mutations in their lifetime.

We can probably see something about the increase in height, at least in whites (east asians are stable and africans are devolving in height) but it's just a momentary sexual selection and nutrition artefact that taps into a pool of mutation already available. This might pertain or not over the long run, and we know size can vary quickly in some instances (island dwarfism and gigantism fe)

We tend to associate as well evolution with something positive as in getting "better" features but it's rather just changes and adaptations if needed to significant natural pressures or selections whatever they may end up being or seen from our point of view. The term "evolution" had to be used for various reasons, again very anthropocentric, but it's not that exactly, how we commonly hear it. That might be a part of the usual misunderstanding when people think everthing should "evolve" like we did.

Why didn't all monkeys become humans? Same reason all wolves didn't turn into dogs.

Younger East Asians are noticeably taller than their elders too. And what evidence do you have that Africans are getting shorter?

Height don't need centuries to occur, it can happen from one generation to another: I know some indios whose parents moved to the US and they are substantially taller.

Usually that is explained by changes to diet and wealth, isn't it?

Lifestyle, hormones, even exprosure to sun might have an impact. Its not surprising to find people with 1.55 mother 1.60 father and height of 1.90-2.05. I know such people.

Children can often be taller than their parents, but not always, and certainly such a huge discrepancy as you've described I wouldn't say is that common.
