In my neighbourhood recently lived a mixed family, where the dad is Hungarian (low class one), the mom is Gypsy. Among their children the Gypsy vibe stronger on the son, but the daugther looks totally white and she is blonde.

The admixture and hanging with Gypsies, also the cultural assimilation among them are mostly connected with the low class Hungarians, but in the upper middle class this is very rare even in NE Hungary, where the amount of Gypsy population are the highest in the country.

What you write has a basis in reality, but it should also be added that basically every ethnic group usually marries its own. At the same time, ethnicities with similar culture, religion and social status are more likely to mix with each other, for example the low class Whites (at least Hungarians, I don't know about other countries) and Gypsies.

Still very rare among every type of middle class. Only the low class persons do it more often. Where i come from gypsies have very negative reputation. I remember once i have been a restaurant, the waiter was a gypsy and my friend ordered food again, because he did not want to eat what a gypsy touched.
