Yes. It was all over the news here as well. Just terrible- particularly for the wounded and for those left behind.
We had a similar inferno here in a discothèque (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volendam#Caf.C3.A9_fire_2001).

My condolences to you and those directly affected by the disaster. :(

It seems that nightclub owners can fall into the unfortunate habits of 1) closing off all exits but the main entrance, and 2) putting up flammable decorations. Finally, someone inadvertently "provides" a source of ignition.
