There are three kind of Gypsies in Balkans. The most wild Gypsies are called Cergash who still live in tents and wonder from place to place, then there are the Roma who are not so integrated but practice trades which they did even during Ottoman empire. The last group are Ashkalis who are Roma mixed with other groups, be them Cerkez, Egyptian, Turk, Serb, and Albanian.

Hard to say what he really is, but I think he would be teased as being such;) We have a habit of labeling darker people as Cigo, and usually such nick names stick to them.

On a serious note. He can pass in most Balkans I think but he doesn't look like your stereotypical Albo with sharp features and such, so maybe that is why in Kastros eyes he looks like a foreigner. In my opinion the cities in Kosova are quite mixed and I have expressed this many times (not that it bothers me or anything), but it's the truth. So he could be anything for all we know, and we shouldn't expect all Albanians from flat lands to look like the Highlanders:D

Until the 90s I would say definitely NO. But the degeneration of moral values after the break-up of Yugoslavia has led our society to become terribly primitive...a lot of teenagers and young people now idolise folk singers like Ceca and various criminals, drug dealers and football hooligans so it is no longer surprising to see such behaviour in a wedding.
