They can pass what they are, Hellenes since 3000 years ago.

Feck, you want to bomb Exarhia and these are Hellenes?

I see an Avaro-slavo-greeko-balkanian Salonikan bias.

To me both look like students.

But numerous people said "Balkans", so let's wait for their opinions.

The med strain in Greeks looks similar to the med strain in Bulgarians and Eastern Albanians. Western Albanians and yugo med looks alike (Dinaric).

A lot of these now Greeks pass outside of Europe, as they are the most non European ethnicity in Europe.

A lot of these students here, the majority in fact, pass as typical Kurds, levant people and southern Caucasians. A few look Balkan and some look foreign and are probably eastern Slav immigrants or mutts.

Cherry picked to look "Balkan" though the crowd in the background is pretty average Greek looking

Your hatred of your northern neighbors is astounding. Why not take a DNA test and see where you plot, or are you too afraid?

Hatred?

I wouldn't plot in the Balkans just like every Greek person

But let me see you whining in the Sicilian thread about "British" looking people xD

Because the difference between Greeks and Bulgarians is as great as that between a Sicilian and a Scot. Right.

Nope but the differences between Italians is not that great, there can be overlapping

I sense double standards when it comes to Greeks-Balkanites and Sicilians-other Italians

Calabrese, Sicilians, Campanians etc are alike. But Venetians/Lombards vs Sicilians/Calabrese? Not really.

O.K. to be honest some of them pass in the Caucasus. The majority pass best in Greece of course, then Italy and the Balkans...

They are as distant as Greeks/Bulgarians so here is your double standards

Why don't you never post some Italic looking Sicilians?

alnortedelsur

I don't know. My guess is that many of them could pass in other Balkan countries, and many others in Turkey, Cyprus or Southern Italy.

Some few ones could pass in Iberia, but not as many as some people would expect.

Not saying this, to mean that Greeks are swarthy or anything like that, is just that they are closer to their most immediate geographical neighbors (including also their northern Neighbors, such as Bulgarians, Macedonian or Yugoslavian) than to Spaniards, and that makes sense.

There is no "Italic" look except for in central Italy, otherwise it's a language family.
There is a general southern Italian look and it can be found in the threads I post. Obviously.

Lombardians and Southern Italians aren't comparable with Bulgarians and Greeks because half of Lombardians are Southern Italians.

some of them could pass as Sardinian, in the first photo, the boy with grey-green pants on the left is identical to a friend of mine, also the three bearded boys next to him could easily pass as Sardinians (except that with white shirt)

Those are the Southern Italians born in South Italy and more recently moved to North Italy, not the ones migrated in the last 100 years and born and raised in North Italy and intermarried with Northern Italians (that in most cases consider themselves Northern Italians and not anymore Southern Italians).

Which makes 90% of them or close to it. From a French study, 30% of mainland Greeks and almost 50% of Northern mainland Greeks descend from Anatolian refugees. That plus Cypriots and Pseudo Greeks from Georgia and Armenia who came during the Soviet era.

According to the Georgian government there are 300.000 pseudo Greeks from Georgia now in Greece.
