I have lived in both cities, and it is their respective rugby teams.

Team One: http://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?103099-Leicester-Tigers-rugby-team-from-Leicester-East-Midlands-England
Team Two: http://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?103667-Ospreys-rugby-team-from-Swansea-Wales

Both, but slightly more the first one.

There is regional variation in phenotype/pigmentation in the UK, but less than in e.g. France or Italy.

Yes, contrary to what some people think on this forum, British Islanders look very much alike all over the Islands I think.

Perhaps once upon a time the variations would have been greater, but the mass migrations caused by the Industrial Revolution in the 18th and 19th centuries largely killed it off.

Basically both. Whether some are blonder than others, it doesn't change much.

Team two.

Off-topic: why do rugby players have a tendency towards chubby lips? Or am I imagining things?

I doubt that very much. I think any differences are exaggerated and the Industrial Revolution only impacted on some areas. Also now that they have the Hinxton samples they can see that the genetics were not that different.

I agree, but the Industrial Revolution really seems to have had some small impact in the the British phenotype, making it s tad bit darker. I am not talking about immigration, but rather about reselection within the population.

My theory is that when people started moving into the cities, populations from different parts of Britain met and mixed. Darker features being dominant became to appear more even though they were a minority at that time. One can have thousands of blue-eyed ancestors, but it only takes one brown-eyed relative to make the following generation mostly if not all brown-eyed.

Yes, probably the Swansea team is a better representation and look more familiar overall, even though I grew up not far from Leicester.

Ignoring the typical robustness of Ruby players, the mangled ears & face through their sport.

Leicester(1) has more Anglo saxons & represents the English better.

The Welsh(2) have the Atlantids & fair skin/red hair. More like Wales, Scotland, Ireland & partly England.

For that reason choice two, because it is found in all corners of the UK.
