Despite that, the Scottish football team is still a lot more genuinely native than the Dutch team, of whom circa 40% are Surinamese, Dutch Antillians, Turks, North Africans etc. (obviously I did not include them in the thread).

Absolutely right. At least, this New Worlder ( who has never left the New World.. there are others who have had experience in Europe) has a rather hard time in identifying any real distinctions between the British, Dutch and Danes.

They look equidistant to me. But male athletes all tend to be square-jawed types so they are not ideal for comparison.

As a general observation, the Dutch do not have the broad faces of the Danes but they have their own looks.

I'm not sure if i agree. But the base of comparison are Man Utd midfielders from the recent past, so maybe that's unfair to him. In my opinion he is closer in level to Michael Carrick than to Roy Keane or Scholes.

He is at Sporting Lisbon, but he is not making the first team. When he arrived everyone said he had lots of potential, but the truth is that he has had very little chances in the first team. A similar case to Martin Odegaard at Real Madrid.
