A reconstruction of Otzi the Iceman -- a remarkably well preserved 5,300-year-old mummy sometimes lovingly called "Frozen Frit" -- created by Dutch forensic experts.

Ötzi the Iceman has at least 19 living male relatives in the Austrian Tirol, according to a genetic study into the origins of the people who now inhabit the region.

Scientists from the Institute of Legal Medicine at Innsbruck Medical University analyzed DNA samples taken from 3,700 blood donors in the Tyrol region of Austria.

During their study, they discovered that 19 individuals share a particular genetic mutation with the 5,300-year-old mummy, whose full genome was published in 2012.

Indeed, Ötzi’s haplogroup is very rare in Europe.

Haplogroup G isn't that rare especially in Italy, the Aegean and also in Iberia it reaches 12% in the North of Portugal and Galiza and 9% in the Azores

It's rare in Scandinavia I agree but in the Mediterranean basin it's not super rare

He was a mix of Neolithic farmer ancestry with WHG ancestry so the results make sense.

His traits aproach Gracile mediterranean althought his shorter midface and somewhat pronounced cheekbones are out of the normal for this modern phenotype.
He is factualy a very good representative of the neolithic pre indo european stock that inhabited Iberia and Italy and migrated by the mediterranean shores.I supose the indo european influence on these peninsulas created longer faces and heads with taller heads/cranial vault , when mixed with the native Otzi-like populations.It seems to me only after the indo european genetic influx the suposed proper phenotype varieties(such as gracile) of these locations were produced.

This reconstructions is a bit weird for sure,there are others of otzi and they all have look diferent from each other with a dose of "imagination".BTW thats a fantastic video , i have watched It before and thats why i searched this thread, Dan David entire Chanel is very good.
