Obama doesn't want our guns, he just wants the ammunition...
-------------------
Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo! The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers.
Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded. Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a 05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!
This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona,
California,Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina,Tennessee, and Washington.
Send to your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!! To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to:

Galloglaich called my this morning telling me about this abomination to our Constitutional rights. Obonga once voted to put a 500% tax on guns and ammo when he was a state senator from Illinois. The socialists/liberals want to take our weapons by a variety of means. Laws like these are solely for the purpose of disabling the average US citizin from protecting himself from his government.

Our gun rights have been in danger since the early 1900s. People haven't really paid that much attention. We had a wonderful assault rifle ban in the 1990s. It also included high cap mags. That's why my sidearm only had 2 10 rd mags. I had to get a few 15rd mags when I got it. The ak-47, even as a semi-automatic, had problems. The SKS got past it because it had an attached 10 rd mag. The ak-47 had various parts also banned, such as the bayonet lug. They were afraid that someone would attach a grenade launcher. If someone had a grenade launcher attached, I think there would be bigger issues than the bayonet lug. They will ban something, then ban something else, then give something back so we forget about the other thing banned.

I've known about the ammo ban for some time. That's why ammo is so damn expensive. .308 is sky-high because the war and we can't import any. .223 and 5.56 is high because the war. 7.62x39 is high because I guess we are letting the towelheads have it all. Wolf ammo went down...but, anyone that is familiar with it knows it is crap. It went down considerably...because the damn factories would run out of primers or powder, and some of the ammo shipped out wasn't complete.

I got some ammo. I've known that they would continue banning the importation, and limit manufacturing. They couldn't take our guns. They are taking the ammo. For all those people that have expensive rifles, but no ammo stockpiled, you now have a very expensive club.

Wolf ammo is crap, but sadly it's the only available 7.62x39 in my area, unless I order from Cheaper Than Dirt.

Wolf IS crap. But, yeah, it's sometimes all you can get. It went down to like 175 for 1k, because the lack of primer, powder, ect. A close and trusted friend told me that Barnault (I'm probably spelling it wrong...been a while since I've seen it) started making that round again. I think when he showed me a link, it was $225/1000.

He and I bought a few cases of ammo a few years ago at a gun show. I got 1 case, he got 8. He didn't realize it was 1500 rounds in the case (2-750 tins). So, when he realized that, he was excited. Then, he realized it wasn't Soviet, it was Chinese. He started checking the codes on it, then, finally pulled one. I won't say anything other that the ammo (1500 rounds) that we bought for $225 is now worth many times that. :thumb001:

This summer I bought some Chinese and Russian SKS rounds, and the Chinese shot much tighter groups, and was cheaper. Go figure.

Nice. I'll be saving up some cash for the next gun show, that's for sure.
It appears Barnaul is selling 7.62's again. From the estimates I found it looks about $200/1000.

Anyway i read through those papers, looks like they intend a half cent tax on every round in Arizona. You guys have it worse?

Thank you. I knew I couldn't be far off from the spelling. My friend, who is local here in Charlotte, a big gun fanatic, and an author, suggested that ammo. I trust him when it comes to such issues.
