That depends on the favela location, favelas from rich places like Ipanema isnt like that. Now go inside their house you gonna found big tv, iphone etc like that guy i posted above(Valdeci Gasparino). Im sure those 65% middle class according to the government doesnt live in your pics.

it all varies by the streets(city of god is the only favela considered a neighbohoord) some are better

you described a favela, indeed very few troo blacks. funny if you stop to think about it, as Brazil received ~40% of all enslaved Africans, yet there are very few true black and loads of mixed people, while in the US, that received 4 times less people have a lot more blacks, if you know what I mean.

The answer to this is racial segregation, The US had laws to keep blacks isolated in their neighborhoods.
And the race question depends a lot on the state and city. These candidates, living in favelas, some do not have any indigenous or black features.

makes me wonder if the US did not segregate and mixed like we did, there would be no black there, very few and many quadroons
