Sherlock Holmes mode :
On the door behind them there are signs that look like Arabian script
I see a certain middle easterner look
Women are not veiled, so they are not muslim
In fact the place looks like a church
I think that they are Egyptian Copts or Syriac Christians
Georgians?
Moldavians?
No to both!

Iraqi Catholics are Chaldeans, who are Assyrians that follow Catholicism (most Assyrians are Oriental Orthodox).
I'll admit I was going to guess Bulgar but then I saw Mens Sarda's post where he pointed out that there was an Arabic-looking script.

I checked, they are Assyrians indeed.
Well done nevertheless !

i would have thought iranians
So what are main phenotypes ? People said dinaric, med and alpine so far :)
I have the opinion some groups of MENAs would be seen as White and similar to Europeans if they were mostly Christians and Euro-like culturally. Islam is what plays the big role differentiating MENAs like some Iraqis, Iranians, Syrians, Lebanese etc. from Europeans.
Look at the Druze and the Yazidi, most of them look like they could easily pass in Southeastern Europe (and not only Sicily, as Sikeliot always try to imply creating an artificial connection).

Well these people are def. fairer than I'd expect for Iraq :)
They don't look particulary European, especially not south slavic (probably most people had such idea since I was one who open this thread - shows how biased classifications are here), but they could pass individualy, even in groups, in very med places I think.

To me, Christian and Jewish MENA groups (Assyrians, Copts, Mizrahi, Maronite, etc...) are White, but Moslem ones are not.

That's odd. White doesn't mean anything scientifically.....

There's no really good place to draw the line between Whites and Browns genetically, so religion is a good way to do it.

I know, but whiteness is a combination of genetic, phenotypical, cultural, and social factors.

It's meaningless in Europe, only new worlders identify with whiteness because they have mixed origins.

Fair point.
Mainly East-Meds, and few Taurids, pass in Levant.
