I don't think they fit well in either, they look highly distinct from both.. But if you forced me to pick, yes.

I could also add North African choices to the end of the list as places SOME could pass but they'd be the end of the list of the 'passable' choices.

They just look South Euro and not significantly more 'northern' or 'nordic' than Greeks or Southern Italians. As a matter of fact many if not the majority can pass in those 2 places.

They pass in Sicily, Malta, and maybe even Cyprus better than the British Isles IMO.

More than half of Argentinians, Uruguayans and south Brazilians (plus Sao Paulo state) could easily pass in Spain and/or Italy, and even in several European countries.

Venezuela received a large European immigration of mostly Spaniards, Italians and Portuguese. And these Spaniards could easily pass as white Venezuelans of Spanish or Portuguese descent. Venezuelan whites are minority, but a sizable minority. I am Venezuelan of mostly Spanish descent, plus some distant Italian, and despite my minor Amerindian and SSA mixtures, I easily blend among full ethnic Spaniards. And many white Venezuelans are like me, or even more Euro than me.

And Colombia has many whites too. Most of them of colonial stock, but many white Colombians could also blend with ease in Spain, and even in other European countries.

Mexico: same as Colombia.

And Puerto Rico and Cuba also received lots of Spanish immigrants.
