the girls are very typical examples of gracile mediterraneans. While the brother looks to me a hybrid of gracile-med and berid.
So very typical of souther Spain.

Your views are probably biased by the "rumors" about her supposed gypsy ancestry. There is nothing extraordinary in her brother.

MAYBE she could pass as a pale/less arabized lebanese or syrian but even then she does not have eastern med vibes... so all in all I don't see it...

Even if she could PASS as middle eastern, I think she would stand out as very different.

Her jawline is too strong and straight, nose is too straight, the shape of her face, a wide forehead, and too light skinned, to be middle-eastern. Not saying they are mediterranid, only on surface appearances some (very few) coud get away in looking european. And yes obviously there are other features to consider. I'm not saying Penelope looks typically iranian.
Theres a far difference from her and lets say Aylar Lie.
To the average person on the street, these assumptions could happen. I wouldnt have guessed this iranian girl on my floor was from iran for instance, or even middle eastern.

People tend to take pictures that do not put her in value (either it is a picture that gives it distorted face traits, or pictures with a bad type of light that give her a very very "burnt in the sun" skin). But she is a fully Euro-Mediterranean woman. I could easily distinguish her from a woman from Saudi Arabia.

I think she is not that dark and exotic without the Hollywood excessive tanning and make up to make her look like more "ethnic" to feed the stereotype of Spaniards being exotic, but she is not that average and representative in Spain either, as some people want to make her up to be.
