North-East or North-West?

Sometimes I read of people who think Northern Italians look more like Balkanites, sometimes more French-like. Here I've posted 5 Italians from the far Northwest and 5 from the far Northeast. Probably some East European traits are more common in the Northeast while West European features are more common in the Northwest. Do you think this difference shows?

I would 1,4,5,7 would be from the Northeastern part and the rest from the Northwestern portion of Italy.
