The next one will be about Slavic surnames. As in the other ones, they range from 10% German to 100% German, I'm not trying to make a point about Germans but about German-Brazilians. In the case of Germans there are much more individuals who are 100% German than in the case of Italians (most people with Italian surnames in Brazil have other ancestries). People with German ancestry are probably majority in the state of Santa Catarina and important minorities in Rio Grande do Sul, Espírito Santo, São Paulo and Paraná (these people are mostly Northern German). There's also sizeable communities in Rio (mostly Swiss Germans) and Minas Gerais (mostly Austrians and Bavarians).

Even if some of them are supermodels now, they come overwhelmingly from poor rural backgrounds (with few exceptions, like R. Scheidt).

Most look stereotypical German, except for number 2 (looks French or Italian), number 6 (looks Irish), number 10 (Southern-shifted Euro-mutt), number 11 (looks more Lebanese than quite a few of the Lebanese in the other thread!), number 16 (looks like a light Southern European) and number 17 (another Southern-shifted Euro-mutt).

And you know what is funny? Number 11 is likely fully German (all his surnames and also of his parents are German).

That's one of the reasons I always say that Brits are globally lighter and more northern shifted than Germans, contrary to the myth on this forum.

In Germany and Austria you can still see a significant minority of mediterranean, dinaric and alpine types with olive skin. In Britain, in terms of skin pigmentation that is a rarity. Also Germans usually can tan well (even the blonde types) while Brits get sunburns asf (even the dark haired ones).

That guy reminds me Hansi Muller, former German player, who is fully German also.

Agreed. This whole TA shit ''Mats Hummels is exotic and doesn't look German'' is ridiculous. I think Brits are lighter-skinned than Germans but they are way less blonder. Light eyes ratio is probably the same. I know a German guy who is olive skinned but extremely blond and with blue eyes.

I remember when I visited Switzerland German parts I saw a lot of Roger Federer types, the same in Austria. I was regularly mistaken for local there myself.

Lol that’s true.

My Swiss-German side was darker than my Northern Italian side. They were brown-auburn to dark haired with brown/greenish eyes. They were from the German part of Valais, near the town of Sepp Blatter.

Way less blonder I think it's an exaggeration, I don't think the difference is substantial (if any), Brits are blonder than people here make them. I have some experience with Brits and Germans as well as other european nationalities because I live in a extremely touristic area and see thousands everyday of several origins, there's also large communities of expats here. I have the clear impression that Brits are lighter than Germans overall.

For example, a British School here in Algarve, some are kids ok, but nonetheless see the % of blondes (and many ash blonds) in that group.

I think it depends on which Germans one is talking about. Germans from Austria, Bavaria and Switzerland are likely on par with Brits in hair pigmentation. But West Germans and Northern Germans are certainly much lighter haired.

The regions in which they settled barely had natives for the most part... If anything they would carry black admixture instead of native lol.
It's funny how someone magically start to show native when that person is Brazilian. I think Europeans and others should educate themselves a bit more about Brazil before commenting tbh.

I can see ''native'' influence in Alisson Becker, but maybe it's just Faelid/CM influence anyway.
