In real life almost everyone with an IQ north of 80 correctly guesses that I’m indian, despite me dressing completely western, being well built, and having no accent. This proves it is a facial thing. I have come across the occasional dumb white kid who thought I was a different race(usually middle eastern) but even those people are able to remark on the facial similarities between me and other Indians. Hell even facial recognition apps put all my top matches as Indian people.

So obviously I take it with a grain of salt if anyone says I pass somewhere exotic. And I’ve become cynical as a whole regarding my looks.

Why don't you just embrace the way you look and use it to your advantage?

I promised you that I wouldn't write this again, but..: A) you are good looking.

And,

B) Yes, your aesthetic is indeed patently Indian/South Asian.

Just find a slutty blonde woman; they love brown/black men.

There is no advantage.

Yes

Why? I have never seen your pic but people here say that you are good looking. Every ethnicity has its own beauty, all of them have good and bad looking people. You should be grateful, being a bad looking White would be worse for your self esteem, trust me (at least i think).

No it would not, I’d probably have a better life with better parents and people taking me seriously

There is no advantage.

If this is about girls, you'd have an easier time with indian chicks than most dudes would. Is that not an advantage?

We are too much accustomed to attribute to a single cause that which is the product of several, and the majority of our controversies come from that.

I do get it, man.

But how worthwhile is it to agonize over something you simply cannot change?

You cannot change your ethnicity, and you cannot change how Americans perceive/engage with/treat, Indians/Indian Americans.

You look good and handsome to me. You could pass for other ethnicities then indian in my opinion. You could pass as atypical gypsy and if you told people you are gypsy they would believe you. You could also pass as nepali or some type of southeast asian.

Also, mate:

When you do get a girlfriend, and you start having regular sex, I bet you that this theme which is currently troubling you, will lose the greatest part of its potency.

While I agree that much of that which is frustrating you (e.g.: the idea that American women are less attracted to Indian men..) is valid.. I would also suggest that much of your frustration is sexual in nature.

After all, you are a young man, and like most young men, you are very horny.

Is it plausible that, actually, you are not so much tormented by how Americans perceive Indians, as you are by the fact that you are not having sex?

^Is it plausible that 8 tenths of the force of your feeling/s about how Americans perceive Indians, is in fact force generated purely by a lack of GF/sex?

I'm not trying to trivialize your thoughts/feelings (but I am urging you to examine them most frankly).

And if the best part of your angst/torment (for lack of better words) is in fact generated and maintained, by a lack of sex (to simplify things).. the good news, then, is that your issue is one which can be resolved.

You would be in much direr straits, in my opinion, if the heart of the matter was truly, How Americans Perceive Indians (as opposed to the heart of the matter being, truly, a lack of sex).

TL;DR version of my sentiment/s:

Would you be experiencing a proximate quality of thoughts/feelings (torment) about how Indians are perceived, if you were asexual?
