His life was intense. Most certainly lived something worth writing about. That is my dream in life. To live with an abundance of experiences. (Maybe not cutting my own ear off)

One core thing that attracts me to Verlaine is the intensity of the life he lived.

Ah yes one of my favorites as well.
My absolute love would have to be his almond blossoms work.
Houston actually had a Van Gogh themed expedition earlier this year and i was lucky enough to go.
They had a section where it was “live” and had pop-ups of his work for you to take pictures in.
Here is one for an example:
