The Mordva resembles Marjo Matikainen. I have always pondered why she looks so weird.

Ok, which of these looks the cutest: Marjo Matikainen (on the left), who has the widest and biggest facial skeleton, or the other Finnish skiers, who have a more narrow face?

How attractive people look probably has a distribution like a normal distribution. Among Finns and other Finno-Permic people, the minority of people at the end of the distribution look more Uralische, but the majority of people around the middle of the distribution look more Nordid. Therefore even though Marjo Matikainen doesn't look like an average Finn, she still looks more characteristically Finnish than the typical Finn.

Are you kidding? :) a weirdo and three witches. The second one looks decent, though.

What is wrong with the term Balto-Slavic. It was a decent Soviet term for all Baltic and Slavic people living in the empire. But being more precisely, she looks more Baltic than Slavic. This is my honest opinion, based on my experiences.

Yeah but a protruding witch chin and downturned witch nose are very Germanic features.

For example here the Norwegian and Swede both have a long downturned nose and a protruding chin:

Even Bertil Lundman said that East Baltids have a non-protruding chin and an upturned nose (https://www.theapricity.com/snpa/rastyper-04.htm):

a) tavasttypen, under svensk medellängd (c. 170 cm.) undersätsig särskilt bredaxlad och grov med korta ben och medellånga armar. Huvudet kort (BLI c. 82-83) och högt (HLI c. 76) med platt nacke, f. ö. stort brett och knotigt (A I c. 85). Stort fyrkantigt något platt ansikte med brant profil, hög bred panna samt bred vinklig och plump föga framskjutande haka. Nedtill bred men ofta spetsig uppnäsa.

Google translation:

a) the Tavastid type, below Swedish average length (c. 170 cm.), especially broad-axis and coarse with short legs and medium arms. Head short (BLI c. 82-83) and high (HLI c. 76) with flat neck, moreover large wide and knotty (facial index c. 85). Large square slightly flat face with steep profile, high wide forehead and wide angular and plump non-protruding chin. Bottom wide but often pointed upturned nose. The hair is grayish-yellow straight and the eyes are grayish-black, glossy, the slit is narrow, but not oblique. Eyebrows thin and beard weak. Rough, grayish-yellow complexion, slightly developed ear lip. Distribution: Western Finland, Western Estonia and although more rare west to Elbe.

The Finns are mostly mongrels, Northern Germans (~Swedes and Norwegians, especially Swedes) as well. So how can we say that something is typical or original? When trying to classify people, what ever it is - mostly prejudices and rubbish, I try to find original features like Germanic and Baltic roots. For instance we can see old Livonian photos, thanks to Finnish photographer who traveled all around 100 years ago.
