Which Europeans you think they look closest to? In my opinion the closest to Ashkenazi Jews in looks are the French. Because... they always strike me as Jewish looking like this French president.

I think it's actually vox populi. Majority of Europeans in Western Europe are liberal democrats and atheist, they're also pro-immigration... meanwhile, you also have the conservative who don't want immigrants (although they're a minority).

Most of pure Ashkenazi have somewhat distinct look.
BUT most of Jews in East Europe ( can't speak about the Western countries) represent actually a mix of Jewish+Slavic.
Usually they look very much alike Romanians and Bulgarians. It could be reasonable since Romanians/Moldavians genetically stay far equally between West Ukrainians and Ashkenai Jews.

TBH I can't understand why some people say that Macron and Hollande look Jewish. Both of them look very CentralWest Euro.
