Diverse looks.

Given they are from Colombia's Caribbean (albeit at least a tad whiter than the general population there), how similar would you say they look to PRs?

Similar. Most would pass unnoticed, although Indhira Serrano looks blacker than the average person that is called "negro" in PR, and Cesar Navarro would be atypical. I have a cousin on my PR side that looks almost exactly like Maribel Abello (at least in that picture) :lmao

Goenaga and Serrano have what I would call a "pan Hispanic Caribbean griffe" look on them. You can as easily find them in Loiza, Villa Mella or the slummiest parts of Havana. While Navarro has the classical Caribbean triracial looks (reminds me a bit of Francisco Gattorno).

Yes, but still griffes are not that common. I don't know, if Navarro told me he was Puerto Rican I would believe him but it wouldn't be my first guess.

Yeah, at this stage it wouldn't be far fetched to see Loiza as something of a rez, so uncommon they are on the rest of the island. A Ponceño could go on his entire life without seeing one if he so chose.

And how similar do the rest look to other Hispanic Caribbean peoples?

Axel and MixedGuy would have to tell you how common they would be on Panama and Vene, cuz I already told you three locales on the islands, although in PR is kind of a hit or miss thing. A San Juanero would not bat an eyelash if they told him they are PR, but someone from Ponce, Aguadilla, San German or other locales far from the east would question them.

Why would they specifically fit better in Villa Mella than in the rest of the DR?

Concentration and homogeneity. Villa Mella and San Cristobal have that uniform look on that range while elsewhere you have a larger melange.

Well in regards to Venezuela I can tell u all of them are super duper common/typical imo.

I'm a San Juanero (Guaynabito :thumb001:) and I wouldn't bat an eye at any of them aside from the two I pointed out (and even they, if they told me they were PR, I would believe them). San Juan metro area is the most phenotypically diverse area on the island, I would say. Maribel, Rita, Alberto, Tania, Carlos, etc could easily be family members of mine too

Imo everyone can pass in Venezuela since its such a diverse/mixed country, I think only people who would be atypical or couldnt pass are "Gringo" types of looks, so like Faelids, Borreby, Hallstatt, Tronder, and in general very strong nordid types would definetly call the attention of locals, and will be most of the time assumed as a American or European tourist lol. Fully Strong SSA looks would also be seen as atypical, but not necessarily foreigner. Fully Amerindian phenos while not uncommon, they are not seen on the street as much, and if they are, people assume that the person has very recent ancestry of a local tribe or is a member of. Besides that unless the person is East Asian, or has a very strong Middle Eastern/Indid phenotype, then almost everyone can pass as local in Venezuela. This also only my opinion of what I have noticed along the years, so dont take my opinion as objective either, since its only an opinion, I can be wrong.

Can they distinguish among different Amerindian types?

Were the Great Hispanic Caribbean Union ever to take place, would you accept either of Colombia's coasts as part of it?
