President expresses support for large families

President Karolos Papoulias on Tuesday expressed support to the members of large families, stressing that the country “has the potential to live and prosper”.
Papoulias received representatives from the Supreme Confederation of Large Families Parents of Greece (ASPE) and congratulated them for what he called their "strength". He was briefed on the problems faced by the 185,000 registered large families in Greece and wondered why the state is unable to understand "certain simple things".
ASPE representatives referred to recent austerity measures taken by the government, stressing that large families and single people are virtually being treated the same way, while calling for a fairer distribution of economic burdens. (AMNA)
