I can see those features being present in many Amerindians (mostly those from Northern America)! But obviously the Mongoloid element is strong in those people too.

Can you run the Malt'a to see the difference? Sometimes MA1 looks a bit closer to West HG's. It should be really close and im not sure that isn't just due to coverage. On the other hand AG3 would be a tad closer to Amerindians and ENA's.

No because distance or admixture percentage is unreliable detector of descent. You have to use IBD. Besides distances and percentages change depending on what tool you use.

But you can’t do IBD because these ancients and 98% of the ancients in the datasets aren’t even diploid genomes. Therefore you can’t get accurate phasing

But making diploid genomes for 98% of ancients has high margin of error because their coverage/quality is so poor.

It’s unethical for anyone whether they work at Harvard or any place not to warn readers about margin of error of all these low quality ancient samples
