Yeah sorry, I've made this exact thread before but I thought it would be interesting to get a new set of answers.

I know that some of my German ancestors are from the borders of Poland and Germany. My British side is from Northumberland, I think they came to the colonies in the 1600s, maybe as indentured servants.

Ah, so you probably have some degree of Wendish admixture. Have you ever DNA-tested?

Yeah, my mother's maiden name is literally "Wendt", lol. I'll probably get a DNA test at some point.

I mean, certainly passable as a h’white there, but I find the German-looking Wisconsinites to look more Swabian. Also, WI has a lot of Polish descendants.
