There is a thread about Czech beers so let's make a thread about non-alcoholic beverages.
In case of Czechs one of most popular brands is Kofola.

It started as a brand in the 60s when Coca-Cola from "bad capitalist West" was not accessible. Kofola same as original Coca-cola recipe bases on syrup made on herbs, carbonated water, caffeine and some sugar. Herbs are local, comparing to Coca-cola it has less sugar and more caffeine. Basic version of the bottle on the picture below.

It is not only a drink which you can buy in store. In Czechia and Slovakia you have it everywhere, in pubs, restaurants(some pour it straight from kegs) etc.
They even have special glass for this.

The taste is similar to typical coke like Pepsi. First, you feel a weird herby flavour and then strike of sweetness, good refreshing on hot days since it is fizzy drink but the bubbles are not too strong so it's just right

You described its taste well. The herbal taste is stronger than in Cola and it's also less sweet and fizzy.

Maybe a Czech thing? I've noticed with Czech sweets in general, they are not so sugary.
