I think you should try this with group pictures. All european countries have diverse looks and it's easy to select individual people on both sides to make it more difficult.

I think you should try this with group pictures. All european countries have diverse looks and it's easy to select individual people on both sides to make it more difficult.

But there are often clues in the background or something that give it away.

They may seem to you, that's common northamerican folklore, but that's all.

I never make it so obvious with one group's pics being so dark and the others so light. Just a hint :D

I based most of my guesses on that criteria. The Portuguese are quite light for S. Europeans, but I thought that maybe since the Basques are from farther up north, and nearby mountains, that they would be lighter.

Maybe that, statistically speaking, if you analyze a sample of Portuguese and Basques, you may find Basques slightly more light, if that is true, who knows that might be explained exclusively by latitude and climate but when you walk on the street you can't really tell us ones from the others.

That is true, you probably couldn't tell the difference when walking on the street, but I wasn't walking on the street: I was analysing these guys.

It results in the same. You have no study to rely on, it's a collection of photos and that's just the same as looking at a collection of Basques and Portuguese walking on the sidewalk.
