Today I was on my android phone thinking about how great it would be if TA had its own app on android/ ios systems. It could enhance the interactive experience on the site.

I wonder if Loki is planning on making one in near future. What do you guys think ?

You don't have to make it, I don't think. I've seen some types of apps for VBulletin, I just don't recall the name.

I'm glad you brought it up, I wanted an app to navigate this site so much, I'll look forward into searching for a good Vbulletin app, if I can't I might develop one for this site if Loki approves or help in making one. ..

Creating an app for Android/iPhone would certainly cost a big deal. Not only creating the app, but then you need to serve and update it.
One easier way is to make the forum enhanced for mobiles or add functionality which is easy and free to work with the mobile app Tapatalk (http://www.tapatalk.com/).

It'd be nice but a pain in the arse to make, especially with proprietary Vbulletin software.
However VB offer solutions themselves and there's also an app called Tapatalk.

We are installing vB4 next week, and it includes a mobile solution.

I hope it's better than the VB4 they've got at GW.

I quite like old VB3 despite how old it is and it's many annoyance such as how heavy on bandwidth it is.
MyBB (http://www.mybb.com/) is nice for small forums but nothing compares to VB for large forums.

Meanwhile phpBB is increasingly falling behind. It's always lacked many of the features of VB and has quite an annoying way of operating but on the plus side it is very light and fast loading.

VB is a pain in the arse to use on a phone currently though. I often use Opera Mini and it reloads the whole page even if I so much as click "thanks" on a post.

I never did like portal pages on forums, they're unnecessary and I'd rather just go straight to the board.

That forum doesn't look too bad, I get stuck in my ways though so it will take time for me to like VB4 the same. ;)
