What do you guys think about sustainable architecture and some of it's applications like improved isolation, solar panels, green roofs, living walls or the use of roof garden's in order to use available space twice ?

I don't think it's generally attractive, but a great idea. However, I do love these Latvian "hobbit houses" :p

I think it is the current trend in many communities around the world.
Some of it I like and some of it is pure silliness.
I think that it is ridiculous to ship a green item 10's of thousands of miles when a local alternative makes more sense.
Concerning its attractiveness, I feel that many of the green designs in residential and commercial architecture are hands down, more attractive than the commercial boxes and suburban McMansions that pollute the visual landscapes across the United States.
I also love seeing photovoltaics, solar water heaters, green roofs, solar sunspaces, wind turbines, and hydroelectric dams. The last two items not really lending themselves to architecture. :D
It's a good idea and can be integrated into the architecture if the design itself is good.
It's a good idea as long as you don't over-use your house's energy resources, now that you know that it's more energy-efficient. Otherwise sustainable architecture would have not a lot of purpose. Which means even with that kind of architecture you still have to watch out for your "energy-habits".
