I share the view that they are over-represented here on the forum too. I've never dealt with an autistic person in my life, at least not that I know of. I wouldn't ask someone personally if they're autistic either, I think it's rude or it might make the other person think they've done something wrong or weird.
I scored a 21 on the autism test, but my twice diagnosed OCD probably artificially raised my score. For instance, I love lists and routines (here comes Colonel Frank Van Helsing with the hammer and wooden stake).
No I haven't been diagnosed. I've speculated it in the past, though i think they would probably give me a schizoid personality diagnosis rather than an autistic one. as american doctors are reluctant to diagnose adults as autistic
Everyone has an ailment of some kind - not everyone is expected to be a direct descendant from Mt Olympus like me.
I always thought that i could be autistic (because i'm not socially inept) but i'm not.
Being introverted/nerdy is a normal personality trait.
