Enn,the native in Guangzhou are Cantonese,the hometown of Hakka is Meizhou city,Meizhou and Guangzhou are all belong to Canton province,the distance between these two city is not so far,but Guangzhou is rich while Meizhou is very poor,in the reason of this,many Hakka people chose to immigrate elsewhere,include Guangzhou as a rich region,so the Hakka immigrant were trying to live with the cantonese(native of Guangzhou).At first,they lived in harmony but later a conflicts erupted over land resources.Actually,this conflicts was a war in the truest sense of the word between the whole Hakka cowd and Cantonese cowd,this war brought huge losses to Canton province.Finally,Cantonese won this war while hakka were lost,so many of their settlement communities were destroyed,the hakka who lost their home are choose to immigrate to foreign countries,that the reason that why most of the first chinese immigrants were Hakka.
For though the Hakka are all believe that their ancestors were from northern China,especially the yellowriver region,but in fact,there is a significant percentage of people among them are the descendents of native people of southern China,like She,miao,yao people(Han Chinese are not the native of southern China,Han Chinese live in the north at first,the Southern Han Chinese were the mixblood of the Han immigrant from north and the native southern China),the Han Chinese blood of hakka mainly came from yangze river.
Some people say that hakka’s language can not spoken with another Han Chinese,that makes them unique,in fact,most of the Han Chinese dialects are not incomprehensible to each other, especially in southern China,that because southern China is dominated by hilly landforms,it is difficult to communicate between different groups.
