The way i see it Russia ain't really hostile to the west neither i see the two as rivals. All hostility thing is just media trash talk for the masses. In terms of trade, etc. both tend to be very good partners. Thats imo anyways.

maybe its not hostile but russia distrust the west especially the US, the video was down watch the documentary and you will see in how russia views itself.
