    I would say the first three aren't typical, whereas the last one definitely is.

    Loti, Daudet père et Daudet fils sont dinariques avec des influences alpines et med plus ou moins fortes.

    Jules Vallès est atlantid avec une influence alpine.

    Which ones ? I think Pierre Loti is the only one who could look sufficiently "Eastern" to pass in Turkey/Tajikistan.

    Je me suis rendu compte avec leurs photos les unes après les autres qu'ils ont tous les 3 un nez proéminent/dinarique.

    Loti and Daudets, i think Valles has some atlantid influence making him look more western.

    I was surprized that Loti wasn't his actual name, because I think he passes as Italian.

    Parts of the Balkans, Syria, possibly the general Levant area and the Caucasus.

    En France, l'influence dinarique se fait ressentir dans le sud (en particulier le sud-est) et l'est, en Bourgogne et autour des Vosges.

    Donc je ne pense pas qu'ils soient si exotiques que ça pour des français. Mais après, c'est vrai qu'ils passent sans problèmes en Italie du nord et dans les Balkans.

    Jules Vallès, en revanche, à un phénotype purement français que l'on retrouve difficilement ailleurs.
