I will have to agree with this. I have always gotten along with them but their culture overall is very flamboyant, overly friendly, etc. whereas I grew up with the idea that you don't smile at strangers and God forbid you ask a stranger how their day is doing.

My husband is mostly of Basque blood (+ some iberian, italian and about 6% native) but culturally a Latino (he's Argentine) and said when he went to Europe women especially from north Europe were crazy about him. I was like yeah yeah you might be exaggerating. But once checking his old pictures from Facebook I saw that indeed he had many messages from european girls on that era, it was amusing.
