Judging from the photo they definitely don't look "too southern" or even plain southern to me but the faces are too small in this photo for me to conclude either way. They look like northerners as they should being up in the northernmost part of France. If these people's features are "too southern" for their geography to you then Spaniards and Italians would considered almost African.

Indeed these people from France look remarkably close to English or Welsh people. Considerably closer than 'random French' people that one would come across in real life, media etc.

Yeah, probably a lot of them were still Dutch speaking ~100 years ago.

Generally more British types in these though some pics have more French or central Euro shifted types, subnordics, borrebies, alpines, alpine meds, norcis, atlantids, anglo saxons, nordics, keltids and brunns.

If only we knew what we now know, Creoda. 2021 is a different world in this regard. I am glad there are no surprises concerning the phenotypical overlap between the northern French and English. I wish the pics were still here, ofc, but it sounds like they would not be outliers to the northern French examples I have seen. The Gauls might not have been completely homogeneous but it is interesting my how many central French I have seen who also would pass easily in England.

The pictures are re-posted above you. They are outliers to other Northern French groups since they actually pass well as (Southern) English. Probably because they're essentially Flemish, as explained above.
    Spoiler!

I went on a ferry to France last year, the ships staff i saw(about 10 or so) all French speaking mostly looked almost identical to Brits , once i arrived in Lille people started to resemble more general French so it is really those in the northernmost part who look more British.

To my eyes, plenty of NW French also pass flawlessly as English, Creoda. Why wouldn’t they when there is such a strong genetic overlap? That said, it is possible that the ‘Kelts’ who migrated across from France (most likely during the Anglo-Saxon consolidation of power) might have been from some isolated coastal parts, isolated enough that they Phenotypically differed from their neighbours. Considering the absence of an brachycephalic strain within the English population, it seems unlikely they were phenotypicallt indistinguishable to your modern-day NW Frenchman (who is largely of Alpine stock).
