"What are your opinions on Trivium and Quadrivium?"
the trivium and quadrivium
were chosen for my son
because learning to read on my maternal grand-father's knee
(while his informal home-schooling was deeply influential)
led me to expect a future that never materialised
and led to my choice of the classics
of my own self-study in the libraries
on united states military-bases around the world
as the reading matter as my son sat on my knee.
we began by reading the great conversation
and then proceeded to a brief review
of ideas in western civilisation:

as a result
my son has an applicable similē/metaphor/classical quote
for every conversation.

even viewing these videos educed a literary quote.

at the end,
my son intoned the amphibolic final sentence
from

how many would consider this a legitimate reason to home-school your children
