I am reading a biography about Goldie Goldthorpe, a retired Canadian ice hockey player.

The title is The Real Ogie! by Liam Maguire.

There is an old hockey movie called Slap Shop with a character named Ogie Ogilthorpe that was based on Goldie Goldthorpe. I bought the movie from Amazon and watched it. Colonel Frank Grimes' forum avatar is of Goldie Goldthorpe. For a long time I thought it was his actual photo. Goldthorpe's hair was weird back then but he is a good looking man. He got into a lot of fights on and off the ice. He rescued two women off the ice and was shot and stabbed for it. He also dabbled in bodybuilding and won the title of Mr New Brunswick in 1985. He still lifts weights but only to keep fit. He also studied Judo when he was a kid at the YMCA.

I just finished reading the 3 body problem and about to start The Dark Forest. In English the second book is translated by a different author, I’ve heard it reads differently than the first book.
