I'm sorry Osweo, i thought i was posting on a high brow section where people normally justify and expand their ideas rather than ranting just for the sake of it.
I think i have to clear some ideas here about Architecture. Architecture unlike other Artistic fields serves Mankind, a simple door is the reflection of our shape and proportion and it serves a very clear purpose, to walk through to communicate to, to give access to.
Architecture is a form of speech, you could say that a building is a story, and this story is made up with several sentences and words, and all this must be very well connected and coordinated. Purpose and meaning are fundamental in Architecture, because when a Architect designs he's not doing it on a canvas but in our physical world for people to inhabit, to work in, to experience it.
We Architects, for the most part are not fetishists, but mere interpreters of the current times, of the current needs, we design accordingly to the specificities of each society, each country, each person.
As a matter of i do possess an historical perspective over the evolution of churches through out times that the common man doesn't have, as i have studied and analysed dozens of churches of different periods, so there's no way of throwing that to my face, sorry.
