Serbian anthropologists (Maleš IIRC) noted that the Muslim parts of Bosnia had some of the most depigmented populations in the Balkans.

That seems illogical at first (since Muslim = darker is the general rule), but if we consider how some of the South-Slavs came to be Muslims in the first place, it makes sense. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it was the Turks' excessive taxes on Christians that "inspired" many conversions in the old days. Some of the wealthy middle-class types converted to dodge the dhimmi taxes. Since upper-middle classes tend to always be lighter than the national norm (also a general rule), it makes perfect sense that they would be the lightest.

That being said, the only Bosniak I personally know is quite dark.

    Talking Interesting specimen...

..I've once visited the shores of Turkey and saw great racial diversity, from europid types, to intermediate europid-orientalid, armenoid, etc...to darkmost kurdish orcs from the depths of Mordor!

A turkish guy named Mustafa that was serving me beers at Sarimsakli beach looked as if he came straight out of the Jungle Book while next to me there was a fair, blue-eyed middle-aged man reading a turkish newspaper and he could have passed as a central european easily. So go figure.

Low-brow stories aside, let's keep in mind that the Turkish ethnos is an artificial one, comprised of many ethnicities and racial types, ranging from southeastern Eurppean to downright central asian.

Ataturk himself was very, very progressive:

...and I believe that a large part of his successful image and how strong an imprint it has on the turkish collective unconscious, is due to that proggressiveness.

Needless to say, it is doubtful that his picture would hang in every wall, in every house, every school and every public service, if he had looked, e.g.
    like this:

    You get the point.

Back to the original question, the guy looks east-baltid/CM with possible armenoid or dinaric admixture.
